Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership Comes Up Short

Ascend Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 83-14 loss at the hands of the Southern Wake Academy Lions. The game marked the Aviators' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Southern Wake Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kobe Plata out in front who went 7 for 9 en route to 16 points and six steals. Plata is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Bryan Epperson was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight assists and seven steals.

Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southern Wake Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Ascend Leadership didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-49 loss against Neuse Charter on the 8th. As for Southern Wake Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-37 win against Chatham Charter on the 14th.
