Football Recap: Medicine Valley Piles Up the Points Against Paxton

Medicine Valley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Paxton Tigers to the tune of 69-37. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 25-point advantage.

Mason Roblee had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 240 yards and six TDs on only 15 passes, while also rushing for 74 yards and three scores on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Medicine Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Medicine Valley's defensive line and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Santino Priebe, Emry Adair, and Robby Phillips, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Paxton's side was Lucas Einspahr, who made 18 total tackles.

Medicine Valley's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Paxton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Medicine Valley will challenge Wauneta-Palisade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Paxton, they will face off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Roughriders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
