Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Comes Up Short

Harnett Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clayton Comets. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

When it comes to explaining why Harnett Central lost, don't look at Rylan Beasley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Beasley is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 64% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was King Murdock, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Harnett Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clayton, they pushed their record up to 2-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Harnett Central will welcome Gray's Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clayton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fike at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
