Volleyball Recap: Cherryville Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games + How To Watch

Cherryville won the last time they faced Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ironmen blew past the Gryphons 3-0.

Cherryville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 25-9.

Cherryville can attribute much of their success to Kate Bookout, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Bookout has posted over her last six contests.

Bookout wasn't the only good server: Cherryville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. The Ironmen are 8-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Cherryville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they moved to 11-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherryville will challenge East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against NCSSM: Morganton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
