Raymond Central is 0-5 against Malcolm since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will head out to take on the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Raymond Central took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Palmyra to the tune of 49-20. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Raymond Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Jelinek, who threw for 152 yards and four TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and one score on only five carries. Jelinek's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another pass catcher making a difference was Tavion Johnson, who picked up 126 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Raymond Central didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Palmyra to a completion percentage of just 43.5%. The Mustangs hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.5 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Malcolm waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over the Cavaliers.
Raymond Central better keep an eye on Gavin Little. He was instrumental in Malcolm's win, throwing for 221 yards and three TDs. Little also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making one tackle.
Raymond Central's record is now 4-2. As for Malcolm, their record now sits at an identical 4-2.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Raymond Central has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Malcolm, though, as they've been averaging only 66.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Raymond Central couldn't quite get it done against Malcolm when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 27-19. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
