Basketball Recap: Thales Academy Rolesville Comes Up Short

Thales Academy Rolesville's game on Friday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thales Academy Apex Titans. The Knights have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Thales Academy Rolesville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Colby Currie went 7 for 11 en route to 16 points. That's the most points Currie has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen Cleek, who posted six points and six assists.

Thales Academy Apex was led to victory by Zach Rachmuth and Gradyn West. Rachmuth almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards, while West went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rachmuth has scored at least a third of Thales Academy Apex's points.

Thales Academy Rolesville's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Thales Academy Apex, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11.

Thales Academy Rolesville will face off against Friendship Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Thales Academy Apex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
