Soccer Game Preview: Wilcox vs. Santa Clara

Wilcox and Santa Clara are an even 2-2-3 against one another since December of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wilcox Chargers will head out to challenge the Santa Clara Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Wilcox is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Mountain View on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Spartans are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Santa Clara was able to grind out a solid victory over Fremont on Friday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Wilcox has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-3 record this season. As for Santa Clara, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5-2.
