Soccer Game Preview: Rockford Christian vs. Dixon

Rockford Christian is 1-6 against Dixon since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Royal Lions will host the Dukes & Duchesses at 4:30 p.m.

Rockford Christian is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Genoa-Kingston on Thursday. The Royal Lions came up short against the Cogs, falling 3-0. Rockford Christian have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dixon). Their defense stepped up to hand Lutheran an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. It was an even better day for Jenna Harrison as she scored seven goals for her team.

Dixon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five games. As for Rockford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Rockford Christian suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Dixon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Royal Lions were down 4-1.
