Basketball Game Preview: Schurz Bulldogs vs. Chicago Marshall Commandos

Schurz is 0-4 against Chicago Marshall since January of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Schurz Bulldogs will face off against the Chicago Marshall Commandos at 5:00 p.m.

Schurz's tournament run continued when they took on Prosser on Monday. Schurz fell to Prosser 28-24. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Chicago Marshall over Senn in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Chicago Marshall strolled past Senn with points to spare, taking the game 49-34.

Chicago Marshall found their leader in sophomore Charmarre Scott, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. That's the most points Scott has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Green, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Chicago Marshall's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Schurz, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Schurz was dealt a bruising 58-12 defeat at the hands of Chicago Marshall in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Schurz avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
