Softball Recap: Currituck County Comes Up Short

Currituck County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 10-5 to the Grassfield Grizzlies. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Isabella Bartolotta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Jones, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Currituck County's record is now 5-5. As for Grassfield, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Currituck County will challenge Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grassfield, they will venture away from home to challenge Oscar Smith at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
