Football Recap: Gatesville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Gatesville suffered their biggest loss since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Robinson Rockets, falling 35-14. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Gatesville still got an impressive performance from Cy Burns, who rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Gatesville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Larry Schwertner, Greyson Eggeling, and Eli Phillips, who each picked up one sack apiece. Schwertner was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.

Brice McCurdy produced another solid effort throwing for 196 yards and one TD, while also rushing for 68 yards for Robinson. 101 of McCurdy's passing yards were hauled in by Dylan Medlock.

Gatesville's record is now 7-2. As for Robinson, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
