Baseball Recap: Copley Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Copley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers 11-9. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Black Tigers on Monday, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

James Waterman was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Nathan Strausser also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Copley's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Copley will take on Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greenmen have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they will face off against Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Black Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
