Softball Recap: New Richmond Takes a Loss

New Richmond fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fairfield on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-3. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Gracie Seibert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Schuster, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

New Richmond has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Richmond will venture away from home to challenge St. Ursula Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairfield, they will take on Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
