Lake Norman has gone a perfect 7-0 against A.L. Brown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lake Norman Wildcats will square off against the A.L. Brown Wonders at 6:00 p.m. A.L. Brown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Norman, who comes in off a win.

Lake Norman was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out St. Stephens 2-1.

Vivian Billard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Norman's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avery Evans, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Another was Kaylee Harris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, A.L. Brown lost 12-4 to Providence on Thursday. The Wonders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Norman's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for A.L. Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

A.L. Brown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lake Norman has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for A.L. Brown, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Lake Norman's sizable advantage in that area, A.L. Brown will need to find a way to close that gap.

Lake Norman took their win against A.L. Brown when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Norman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
