 The Clifton Central Comets and the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish squared off in some playoff action  on Wednesday, but sadly the Clifton Central Comets had to settle for second. They took a hard  64-49 fall against the Fightin' Irish. While losing is never fun, Clifton Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 439th, while Bishop McNamara is ranked 217th).
 Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Peyton Chandler, who  scored 11 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aidan Podowicz, who  scored nine points along with two  steals.
 Clifton Central's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Bishop McNamara, their win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 20-8.
 Clifton Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop McNamara also has no future games currently scheduled.
