Brooke and St. Clairsville are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bruins will take on the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brooke is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Steubenville hit Brooke with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bruins came up short against the Big Red, falling 10-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bruins couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brooke saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaine Beatty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Meanwhile, St. Clairsville has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.62 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell just short of John Marshall by a score of 13-12. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Brooke's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9. As for St. Clairsville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Brooke skirted past St. Clairsville 10-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
