Baseball Recap: Canyon Comes Up Short

Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 10-3 to the Calabasas Coyotes.

Canyon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Phillip Curiel also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Calabasas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon will challenge Valencia at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Calabasas, they will square off against El Toro at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
