Basketball Recap: James Kenan Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Lenoir

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James Kenan). They took down the North Lenoir Hawks 53-36 on Tuesday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 58-54 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

James Kenan was led to victory by Y'Anna Rivers and Aleyah Wilson. Rivers posted 21 points and eight boards, while Wilson almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Wilson also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

North Lenoir's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ta'Sheena Lynch, who had eight points and six boards, and Cassadie Fraser, who put up 11 points.

James Kenan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for North Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James Kenan has already played their next match (against Southwest Onslow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Lenoir will head out to square off against South Lenoir at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
