Softball Game Preview: Nicolet Knights vs. Slinger Owls

Nicolet is 0-10 against Slinger since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will challenge the Owls at 4:30 p.m. Nicolet has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nicolet is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 27th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against West Bend East, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slinger). They blew past Whitefish Bay 17-5 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Blue Dukes: they've now won nine in a row.

Nicolet's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Slinger, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Nicolet might still be hurting after the 19-3 defeat they got from Slinger when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
