Football Recap: Isabella Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Isabella lost against Maplesville back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Red Devils. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Despite the defeat, Isabella saw an underclassman step up: sophomore William Leonard rushed for 80 yards and one TD.

Maplesville found their leader in sophomore Nehemiah McCary, who rushed for 106 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. McCary also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making two total tackles.

This is the second loss in a row for Isabella and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Maplesville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Isabella and Maplesville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will take on rival Sulligent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Maplesville is set to challenge their familiar foe Ellwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
