Soccer Game Preview: Naperville Central vs. Lockport

The Naperville Central Redhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Lockport Porters at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Naperville Central's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Lockport's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Naperville Central's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past DeKalb 4-0. Naperville Central haven't had any issues with DeKalb recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Lockport entered their tilt with Lemont on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lemont HS. Ava Kozak had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Lockport.

Naperville Central pushed their record up to 8-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five contests. As for Lockport, their record now sits at 9-2.

Naperville Central suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Lockport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Redhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
