Soccer Recap: First Flight Beats Hickory for Their Third Straight Victory

First Flight had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Hickory Hawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Nighthawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Summer Stevens and Tori Vanacore scored all three of First Flight's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

First Flight pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four matchups. As for Hickory, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Flight will host Hertford County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. First Flight is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.5 goals per game this season. As for Hickory, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Hickory challenge Cox at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
