West Columbus is 1-9 against East Columbus since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Columbus Vikings will host the East Columbus Gators at 6:00 p.m.
West Columbus is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Heide Trask, falling 48-26.

Despite the defeat, West Columbus had strong showings from Alaina Spencer, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards, and Demya Powell, who posted four points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Spencer a new career-high in steals (five). Keimani Little also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Columbus). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 77-32 victory over Heide Trask. The win was nothing new for the Gators as they're now sitting on five straight.
West Columbus better focus on containing Malia Graham and Malayah Hines as the pair were huge in East Columbus' win. Graham dropped a triple-double with 28 points, 13 boards, and ten steals, while Hines went 12-for-17 en route to 36 points and six steals. Graham's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Rylie Graham, who scored eight points and six rebounds.
East Columbus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 46 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
East Columbus pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points over those games. As for West Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: West Columbus has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30 boards per game. However, it's not like East Columbus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
West Columbus was taken down by East Columbus 65-24 in their previous meeting last Monday. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Columbus was down 41-12.
