Baseball Recap: Fairview Victorious

Fairview lost to Wellington back in May of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Warriors walked away with a 9-4 win over the Dukes.

The team relied heavily on Cal Reis, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kenny Lowe was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Fairview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wellington struck out six times.

Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Wellington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Fairview will take on Brookside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wellington, they will challenge Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
