Baseball Recap: Water Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Water Valley took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against New Albany, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Water Valley narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past New Albany 19-18. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Allen Paysinger was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Parker Turnage also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Water Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for New Albany, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Water Valley will welcome Ingomar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Albany, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Pontotoc at 7:00 p.m.
