Baseball Recap: Colin Mcneer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pike

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brownsburg had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Pike Red Devils get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Drew Jennings looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Brownsburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin McNeer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Brownsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pike struck out 12 times.

Brownsburg's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Pike, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Brownsburg will square off against Ben Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
