Basketball Recap: Spoto Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jesse Harden and Jerren Rodriguez

Spoto lost against Plant City back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spoto Spartans received a blow as they fell 62-44 to the Plant City Raiders. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Spoto's loss came despite strong showings from Jerren Rodriguez and Jesse Harden. Rodriguez posted 18 points and five rebounds, while Harden earned eight points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plant City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laurice Hamilton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Hamilton is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Akeim Young, who had six points along with seven boards and five assists.

Spoto's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Plant City, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Spoto didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against Armwood on the 4th. As for Plant City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-31 win against Riverview on the 6th.
