Basketball Game Preview: Beth Tfiloh Warriors vs. Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres

Beth Tfiloh and Sts. Peter & Paul are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Beth Tfiloh Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Thursday, Beth Tfiloh ended up a good deal behind Park School and lost 68-52. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sts. Peter & Paul had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They blew past the Obezags 69-46. The Sabres have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Beth Tfiloh better focus on containing Garret Hemingway and JJ Rardin as the pair were huge in Sts. Peter & Paul's win. Hemingway posted 19 points, while Rardin put up 17 points. Hemingway is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Porter Bishop, who earned nine points.

Sts. Peter & Paul pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points over those games. As for Beth Tfiloh, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Beth Tfiloh came up short against Sts. Peter & Paul when the teams last played on Tuesday, falling 77-68. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hemingway, who had 43 points.
