Volleyball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

If Heritage Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Columbus on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Lamar Raiders on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since August 5th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-4, 25-6.

Lamar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophie Dearing led the charge by getting five aces. Those five aces gave Dearing a new career-high.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Lamar, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Heritage Academy will venture away from home to square off against Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamar, they will host Starkville Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
