Hampton suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 42-0 loss to Hampton. The Crabbers had been ranked 25th, but fell to 28 following the defeat.

Phoebus extended the longest winning streak in AAA Peninsula this week by beating Bethel, 19-17. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Phantoms.

Heritage's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Richard Outlaw has thrown for 408 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Marcus Hook has three catches for 141 yards. Khalid Abdullah leads the league in rushing with 674 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Menchville takes on Phoebus. As it stands, the Monarchs are in sixth, while Stan Sexton's team is in first.

Heritage was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in AAA Peninsula. The Hurricanes defeated Woodside 30-26 earlier in the week.
