A Region 6A recap Oct. 9, 2012

Connor Coakley of Gordon Lee ran for the longest rushing play in A Region 6A this season against Christian Heritage last week. Coakley ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 88 on the day as his team topped the Lions.

Gordon Lee extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Christian Heritage, 20-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Trojans.

Preston Poag's team's Trevor Brown and Nich Bartley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 910 yards this season, while Bartley, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 21 catches for 339 yards. Gordon Lee's Adam Vandiver leads the league in rushing yards with 470.

A big matchup in A Region 6A this week will be when Darlington takes on the Lions. The Tigers are in fourth place, while Christian Heritage is in third place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mt. Zion takes on Trion. The Eagles have allowed 69 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 60.
