Wheaton North won the last time they faced Batavia and things went their way on Monday too. The Falcons came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Makayla Grantz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Reagan Crosthwaite and Abby Del Preto did most of the damage at the plate: Crosthwaite went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Del Preto went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Wheaton North's record now sits at 19-6. As for Batavia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wheaton North is set to challenge their familiar foe Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.1, the Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Batavia will square off against rival Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
