Softball Recap: Tuckerman's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tuckerman). They never let the Cross County Thunderbirds get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Maddyx Soden was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (two). She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

In other pitching news, Emma Davis looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zaylie Poe, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracee McGuire, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Tuckerman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Tuckerman's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Cross County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Tuckerman will face off against Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cross County, they will take on Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
