Baseball Game Preview: Dickinson Rams vs. Odyssey Charter Owls

Dickinson hasn't had much luck against Odyssey Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will take on the Owls at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dickinson has five straight wins, Odyssey Charter has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Dickinson took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hodgson Vo-Tech, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Eagles on Monday.

Joseph Quigley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Dickinson is 2-1 when Quigley posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Trzeciakiewicz, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Odyssey Charter lost 12-2 to Mount Pleasant on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Owls have lost by exactly ten runs.

Dickinson pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Odyssey Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Dickinson might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Odyssey Charter in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
