Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Huskies vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs

The Horizon Huskies will head out to face off against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Horizon after they put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arizona College Prep.

Horizon got a good showing from Jarrett Elco, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Elco has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Quinn Robbins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Havasu on Wednesday, taking the game 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Ethan Dinnell tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Sunrise Mountain's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dominick Santalucia, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Horizon's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Sunrise Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
