Football Recap: West Carter Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jackson County last Friday, West Carter came back down to earth. The Comets were outmatched by the Breathitt County Bobcats and fell 49-19. The Comets lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 54-0 score last time.

West Carter has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Breathitt County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Carter is set to take on their familiar foe Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Breathitt County will challenge rival Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
