Basketball Game Preview: Homer Pelicans vs. Union Parish Farmers

The Homer Pelicans will head out on the road to square off against the Union Parish Farmers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homer is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Homer took their match with ease, bagging a 55-23 victory over Green Oaks. Given the Pelicans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Giants are ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Union Parish was able to grind out a solid win over D'Arbonne Woods on Friday, taking the game 47-39.

Homer is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Union Parish, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Homer ended up a good deal behind Union Parish when the teams last played back in January of 2021, losing 51-34. Can Homer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
