Volleyball Recap: Liberty-Benton Comes Up Short

Liberty-Benton lost against Pandora-Gilboa back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Liberty-Benton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Pandora-Gilboa work for it, especially in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 29-27.

Liberty-Benton's offense was headlined by Elise Brzezinski and Corra Dehart, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from Maddy Amstutz and her two assists. Brzezinski and Amstutz didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Pandora-Gilboa found their leader in sophomore Annabelle Benton, who had five digs and four aces.

Liberty-Benton's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Liberty-Benton and Paulding will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will face off against Kalida at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
