Baseball Recap: Millry Gets the Win

Millry never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the Jackson Aggies by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Aggies: they've now won six in a row.

Caden Welford made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacob Graham was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Millry is undefeated when Graham posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

The victory got Millry back to even at 7-7. As for Jackson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Millry will square off against Sweet Water at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jackson, they will take on Citronelle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
