Basketball Recap: Hardee Falls Despite Big Games from Alexandra Jackson and Rihanna Frederick

It was a proper cat-fight when Hardee challenged Mulberry on Tuesday. The Hardee Wildcats came up short against the Mulberry Panthers, falling 52-29. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Hardee's loss came despite strong showings from Rihanna Frederick and Alexandra Jackson. Frederick posted 11 points, while Jackson earned six points and seven boards. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Lorianys Castanon Cruz was her usual excellent self, putting up 23 points for Mulberry. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Castanon Cruz has scored at least a third of Mulberry's points. Another player making a difference was Alana Standifer, who put up 12 points.

Hardee's record now sits at 7-7. As for Mulberry, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hardee has already played their next game, a 61-19 victory against Santa Fe Catholic on the 24th. As for Mulberry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-44 win against Four Corners on the 23rd.
