Preview: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. Montpelier Locomotives
The Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains will be playing in front of their home fans against the Montpelier Locomotives at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell-Loudon will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Hopewell-Loudon beat Calvert 19-7.
Hopewell-Loudon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Berrier, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Montpelier can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-0 victory over Hilltop at home. The victory was just what Montpelier needed coming off of a 48-7 loss in their prior game.
Montpelier found their leader in underclassman Hayden Sharps, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 168 yards and a touchdown. Kam Smith got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Hopewell-Loudon to 10-0 and Montpelier to 7-3.
