Basketball Game Preview: Lower Lake Trojans vs. Cloverdale Eagles

Lower Lake is on a three-game streak of home losses, Cloverdale a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Lower Lake Trojans will get right back to it and host the Cloverdale Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lower Lake is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sonoma Valley on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lower Lake lost 71-47 to Sonoma Valley. The Trojans were down 61-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Cloverdale ended up a good deal behind Kelseyville on Friday and lost 64-46.

Lower Lake will need focus on slowing down Vann Randolph, one of several Cloverdale players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Randolph, who put up ten points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Cloverdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Cloverdale's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10. As for Lower Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Lower Lake ended up a good deal behind Cloverdale in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 50-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cloverdale's Jesus Arizmendi, who earned 21 points along with eight assists and four steals. Now that Lower Lake knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
