Basketball Recap: Port St. Lucie Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Port St. Lucie had lost three straight headed into Monday's game, but Daniel Alexis didn't let it get to four. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars walked away with a 59-50 victory over the Palm Bay Pirates on Monday thanks in part to Alexis, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Palm Bay's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Buffong, who posted 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, and Deuel ?Junior? Fider, who put up 13 points and four steals. Buffong has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Myles Plain also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Port St. Lucie's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Palm Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Port St. Lucie has already played their next contest (against Lincoln Park Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Palm Bay has already played their next game, an 80-39 defeat against Viera on the 15th.
