Softball Recap: Mira Loma Matadors vs. Colfax Falcons
Mira Loma extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They came up short against the Colfax Falcons, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Monday.
As for Colfax, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.2 runs.
For Colfax's part, Delilah Mitchener made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mitchener has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
