Baseball Recap: Seton Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Seton Catholic won the last time they faced Kalama and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars blew past the Chinooks 20-5. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kolten Gesser, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Dalton Woods also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Seton Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kalama only posted an OBP of .423.

Seton Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kalama, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Seton Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Kalama, they will challenge Tenino at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Chinooks surely won't give up without a fight.
