            Volleyball Recap: Messalonskee Eagles vs. Brewer Witches        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Messalonskee rose to the challenge  on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Brewer Witches. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Eagles have posted  since October 5, 2024.
 Messalonskee was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-16, 13-25, 17-25, 25-13,  15-12.

Messalonskee was led to victory by  Alanna Voter and  Maggie Hickey.  Voter  had 21  digs, while  Hickey  had seven  digs and five  aces. That's the most  aces  Hickey has posted since back in September.
 They weren't the only good servers: Messalonskee  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 19  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least six  aces in eight consecutive  matchups.
Messalonskee is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record  this season. As for Brewer, their loss  ended  a  seven-match streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-6.
 Messalonskee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-0  defeat against York on the 29th. Brewer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
