Basketball Recap: Richfield Beats Minneapolis Southwest for Their Third Straight Victory

Richfield extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Iona Macnabb. The Richfield Spartans claimed a resounding 55-28 win over the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers thanks in part to Macnabb, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 17 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ania Laduke, who posted five points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Richfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.8 points. As for Minneapolis Southwest, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Richfield will square off against Academy of Holy Angels at 12:00 p.m. on January 18th. Richfield is facing Academy of Holy Angels at the right time seeing as Academy of Holy Angels is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Minneapolis Southwest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-58 defeat against St. Anthony Village on the 14th.
