Baseball Game Preview: Tintic Miners vs. Panguitch Bobcats

Tintic is 0-9 against Panguitch since October of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Miners will square off against the Bobcats at 1:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tintic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Pinnacle. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Braylon Jones was excellent, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Tintic is undefeated when Jones posts three or more RBI, but 4-10 otherwise. Kelan Bigler was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Tintic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Panguitch's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let Merit Preparatory Academy get on the board and left with a 30-0 victory.

Panguitch's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Tintic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Tintic might still be hurting after the 19-9 defeat they got from Panguitch in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
