Basketball Recap: New Miami Takes a Loss

New Miami lost against Cincinnati Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Miami Vikings were beaten by the Cincinnati Christian Cougars 56-19. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Serena Cyprien had an outrageously good game for Cincinnati Christian as she went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points and eight steals. Cyprien has become a key player for Cincinnati Christian: the team is 13-3 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alayna Fitzgerald, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

New Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Cincinnati Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Coming up, New Miami will be taking part in a tournament against Cincinnati College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cincinnati Christian, they will take on Summit Country Day in a tournament on Thursday. Cincinnati Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
