Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Wins Going Away Against Columbus Grove

While Patrick Henry didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Columbus Grove Bulldogs on Friday as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Grace Behnfeldt, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brooke Scherdt, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Patrick Henry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Patrick Henry's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Columbus Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Patrick Henry will challenge Arcadia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus Grove, they will take on Bowling Green at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
